In celebration of architect and designer Aino Aalto’s 130th birthday, Tekla and Artek have joined forces to create a limited-edition bedding collection. This collaboration revives Aalto’s iconic Kirsikankukka pattern, which she originally designed in the 1930s after being inspired by a Japanese silk fabric gifted to her. The pattern, characterized by its minimal and abstract floral motif, complements Tekla’s modern and straightforward design philosophy.

The collection includes high-quality percale cotton bedding, available in white, blue and pink, marking the first kids’ bedding offering that features the same elegant design. This partnership underscores both brands’ dedication to timeless, functional homeware that enhances everyday living.

The collection will debut during the 3daysofdesign event in Copenhagen, with an exhibition at Tekla Copenhagen and simultaneous showcases at Artek’s Helsinki and Tokyo stores. The launch also includes a campaign shot by Norwegian photographer Ola Rindal, capturing the essence of the collection amidst original Artek pieces at the Aaltos’ home in Helsinki.

Starting June 12, at 2 P.M. CET, the collection can be found exclusively at Tekla Fabrics, Tekla Copenhagen and Artek stores in Helsinki and Tokyo. Adult bedding pieces are sold individually to allow for personal expression and easy mixing with Tekla’s core collection, while the kids’ collection is sold as a set, priced at $160 USD.
