(WTNH) – As we wrap up May and look forward to a new month, the are new money-savers in stores. We are Stretching Your Dollar with how the changing seasons can benefit your wallet.

The unofficial start to summer is when all retailers need to make official changes to their shelves. Deal News has put out the best buys to consider to save money year-round.

It’s time to move spring apparel out, which is a good buy as it can be worn throughout the summer.

Fitness gear goes on sale this month as people try to revive those resolutions as we approach beach days. Dinner and cookware also go on sale, which may seem unusual but you can thank peak wedding season for the break on those items.

Since June is the month of dad, typical items to be marked down include clothing, tools and golf accessories as we get closer to Father’s Day.

So what are some things you shouldn’t buy? Patio furniture deals will come mid-to-late summer, so you should wait it out for those deals. Mattress deals also begin around the 4th of July.

Also, a couple of dates this month to keep in mind- June 18 is National Splurge Day, so there’s a designated day to buy whatever you want. June 1 kicks off National Fishing and Boating Week so you may find deals then.
