It happens all the time for the world to be treated to incredible special editions of the objects people love the most, so we’re used to that. What we’re not used to, because it so rarely happens, is having two special edition objects from seemingly unrelated worlds step into the spotlight together. Like a British motorcycle and a Swiss watch.
Apparently out of the blue, the Brits from Triumph joined hands with luxury watchmaker Breitling to release two special edition versions of some of their most coveted products: the Speed Triple 1200 RR and the Chronomat B01 42.

We’ll start by having a look at the watch, because we don’t come across such things very often here on autoevolution.

The Chronomat is a name that’s been around in the Breitling portfolio since 1983, when it was originally created as a mechanical chronograph for the Italian aerobatics team Frecce Tricolori. Since then, it has made a powerful name for itself, becoming one of the pillars of the watchmaker’s product lines.

For the collab with Triumph the watch was significantly modified. The thing comes with a carbon dial held in place by a brown alligator strap and protected from the elements by a caseback.

Because each watch is meant to accompany one of the Triumph motorcycles we’ll discuss below, the caseback is engraved with the motorcycle number.

The Chronomat is made of titanium and is plated with 18k red gold that on the dial was designed in such a way as to replicate the front forks of the motorcyle.

As for the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR Breitling limited edition, the bike is supposed to occupy a place at the top of the food chain within its family. The first thing that strikes you is the gold hand-painted detailing that matches the styling on the Chronomat.

The seat of the bike is made in leather with French stitching, and there are carbon fiber parts to be seen all around. To make sure there is no confusion as to what the two-wheeler is supposed to honor, the Breitling logo has been laser-etched onto the machined rear wheel finisher, a gold Breitling badge sits on the tank, and the start screen displays a special animation.

Mechanically speaking, the Speed Triple stays mostly the same as all other versions, with a liquid-cooled 1,160cc engine sitting in the frame. It breathes out through an exhaust system that rocks an Akrapovic silencer and rides on Ohlins semi-active suspension.

Triumph says the bike run is limited to only 270 units, and each of them will sell starting this month, if the owner so desires, with a matching Breitling watch. The price of the motorcycle alone is $25,995, but we’re not told how much the watch adds on top of that.
