This year’s Met Gala theme was “Garden of Time,” so it’s unsurprising that it was a sea of stellar timepieces on the red carpet. To be fair, we get it, if there’s one event you don’t want to be late to, it’s one of the biggest nights on the fashion calendar. When it came to trends, small and slim was centre-stage, with The Met cementing the small watch’s big impact on male and female wrists and just how versatile the trusty time-teller can be. Jeff Goldblum started pre-gaming on the red carpet with his Tiffany & Co. Cocktail 2-Hand. Serena Williams taught us how to wear the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, and Nicholas Galitzine made a timeless TAG Heuer statement. Take a look at our horological highlights below.

Jeff Goldblum is up there with the best-dressed men, and when he wore a Tiffany & Co. Cocktail 2 hand with his full Prada fit, he showed us all how to show up to the Met Gala. The watch is a classic dress watch with a super-soft satin strap and a diamond bezel—and it’s bang on.
Usher wore a Jacob & Co. Ruby Billionaire III
Usher wore the mega Jacob & Co. Ruby Billionaire III to bring a wrist-worn pop of colour to his Red Carpet look. With its 18-carat white gold, sapphire glass, 714 ruby make-up, and rumoured five million dollar price tag, it was definitely red carpet ready.
Troye Sivan wore a Hublot Big Bang Original
Troye Sivan’s subtle wrist action came in the form of a Hublot Big Bang Original, the chronograph introduced in 2005. With his harnessed shirt and suit pants ensemble courtesy of Prada, his Hublot Big Bang was the tech-meets-time icing on the cake.
Serena Williams wore an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak
We all know the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, and Serena Williams sported one when she went for gold, with a Royal Oak for the Met. This awesome accessorization really showed there’s no place the Royal Oak will look bad, especially with a gold Balenciaga Gown.
Barry Keoghan wore an Omega De Ville Prestige
If we’re being picky, Barry Keoghan technically wore three Omega watches to the Met, including a vintage-esque pocket watch. But when it comes to his wrist, the Saltburn star donned an Omega De Ville Prestige. Initially released in the ‘60s as part of the Seamaster family, it was established as the dressier cousin to Omega’s sports line, making perfect sense at the Met.
Nicholas Galitzine wore a TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph 60th Anniversary
Nicholas Galitzine wore a piece of TAG Heuer history for the Met Gala, donning the Carrera Chronograph 60th Anniversary model. With a classic leather strap and silver dial complimenting an floral embroidered Fendi suit, this was a solid case of understated excellence that aced the assignment.
Lil Nas X wore a vintage ‘70s Piaget
Wearing a vintage watch is peak “if you know you know,” and something Lil Nas X had nailed with a vintage ‘70s Piaget in white gold and malachite, which with the Swarovski-heavy outfit, slapped.
Sebastian Stan wore a Cartier Crash
Sebastian Stan paired an all-black Ami look with everyone’s favourite ran-over-looking watch: the Cartier Crash. This piece of watch history (apparently, it’s inspired by a mashed-up Cartier Baignoire Allongée worn by a Cartier exec in a car crash), was the perfect accessory to Stan’s fit, and probably a pretty good talking point, too.
